Who we are

Performance Interpreting Ltd is the data controller for the information you provide on this form. We are a BSL and ISL interpretation agency based in the UK.

NRCPD registration number
Professional experience and regional availability
Self-assessed familiarity with AI-related terminology
Your responses to availability and interest questions

Why we collect it

We are preparing a tender to provide BSL interpretation for the RNID & Sciencewise AI & BSL National Dialogue, funded by UK Research & Innovation (UKRI). Your information helps us understand the capacity and readiness of our interpreter network so we can submit an informed bid. No commitment is made by either party at this stage.

Lawful basis

We process your data under legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). Our legitimate interest is to assess interpreter availability and readiness to inform a tender submission. This is proportionate and expected in the context of our existing professional relationship with you.

Who has access

Your data will only be accessed by Performance Interpreting staff involved in preparing our bid for this project. Your data will not be shared with RNID, Sciencewise, UKRI, or any other third party. It will not be sold or used for marketing.

If PI is awarded the contract in future, we would contact you separately to discuss involvement and seek any additional consent required at that stage.

How we store it

Your responses are stored in a secure Google Workspace spreadsheet on a Performance Interpreting account, protected by two-factor authentication. Data is transmitted securely via HTTPS.

How long we keep it

If PI is not awarded the contract, your EOI data will be deleted within 3 months of the outcome. If PI is awarded the contract, we will contact you separately and your EOI data will be retained for the duration of the project (expected to conclude December 2026), after which it will be deleted within 3 months.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you
Rectify any inaccurate information
Erase your data (request deletion)
Object to processing based on legitimate interest
Data portability - receive your data in a structured format

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
